Tuesday, the JV Softball team defeated Walled Lake Central in 2 games. Game #1 15-1 win Lakeland Eagles JV put up 11 runs in the fifth on its way to a 15-1 victory over Walled Lake Central. McKenna Finnegan, Kaylee Philipon, Jennifer Leon, Leah Kidder, Bella Shaw, and McKenna Bergman all drove in runs in the frame. Philipon was in the pitcher's circle for Lakeland Eagles JV. She allowed two hits and one run over five innings, striking out four and walking zero. Lakeland Eagles JV scattered 12 hits in the game. Kira Mears, Kidder, Philipon, and Finnegan all managed multiple hits. Game #2 15-0 win Kaylee Philipon didn't allow a single run as Lakeland Eagles JV defeated Walled Lake Central J V 15-0 on Tuesday. Philipon allowed just one hit. May 9th double header against Walled Lake Northern Game #1- Lakeland Eagles JV defeated Walled Lake Northern 9-6 on Thursday thanks to a walk-off home run. The game was tied at six with Lakeland Eagles JV batting in the bottom of the eighth when McKenna Bergman homered on a 0-1 count, scoring three runs. Bergman led Lakeland Eagles JV to victory by driving in five runs. She went 3-for-4 at the plate. Bergman drove in runs on a single in the first, a home run in the fourth, and a home run in the eighth. Lakeland Eagles JV fired up the offense in the first inning, when Bella Shaw singled on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs. Lakeland Eagles JV smacked three home runs on the day. Jacklyn Higgins had a long ball in the fourth inning. Bergman went for the long ball in the fourth and eighth innings. Lakeland Eagles JV racked up nine hits in the game. Bergman and Shaw each managed multiple hits. Game #2- Lakeland Eagles JV claimed a 12-6 victory on Thursday, despite a big push by Walled Lake Northern in the fifth inning. On Saturday, Lakeland JV Softball took the Championship at the Anchor Bay Invitational, beating Port Huron Northern, Warren Cousino, and Anchor Bay on the way to the championship. The Eagles are now 14-4 on the season. The Eagles Takes Victory Against Anchor Bay In Pitcher's Duel Both teams were strong on the rubber Saturday, but The Eagles defeated Anchor Bay 2-1. Kaylee Philipon allowed just five hits to Anchor Bay. In the bottom of the first inning, The Eagles tied things up at one when. The Eagles pulled away for good with one run in the fourth inning. In the fourth Alex Rossi singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run. Philipon led things off in the circle for The Eagles. She surrendered one run on five hits over seven innings, striking out three and walking zero. Rossi went 1-for-3 at the plate to lead The Eagles in hits. The Eagles put the pressure on, lead by a walk by Jenna White, a single by Emily Bowron, and a home run by McKenna Bergman. The Eagles got things moving in the first inning. Last Thursday, the JV Softball took two games from Milford. Game #1: Lakeland Eagles JV Grabs Lead In Seventh Inning For Victory Over Milford The Eagles snatched the lead late in the game in a 3-1 victory. The game was tied at one with The Eagles batting in the top of the seventh when Madison Bowron doubled on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs. The pitching was strong on both sides. Kaylee Philipon struck out nine, while Milford pitchers sat down one. Philipon got the start for The Eagles. She lasted seven innings, allowing six hits and one run while striking out nine and walking zero. Philipon led The Eagles with two hits in three at bats. The Eagles didn't commit a single error in the field. McKenna Bergman had ten chances in the field, the most on the team. Game #2: Kira Mears Drives In Four To Seal Lakeland Eagles JV's Victory Over Milford Four runs batted in from Kira Mears helped lead The Eagles past Milford 17-7 on Thursday. Mears drove in runs on a walk in the second and a home run in the third. The base paths were crowded in this high-scoring game. The Eagles collected 18 hits and Milford had 16. The Eagles pulled away for good with six runs in the second inning. In the second, Kaylee Philipon homered on a 0-1 count, scoring two runs, Mears drew a walk, scoring one run, and Leah Kidder singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run. Eagles JV Softball Splits DH with Fenton on Friday. Game#1 The Eagles defeated Fenton Tigers JV 5-2 on Friday after taking the lead late in the game. The game was tied at two with Lakeland batting in the top of the seventh when McKenna Bergman tripled on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs. Kaylee Philipon earned the win for The Eagles. She lasted seven innings, allowing three hits and two runs while striking out nine. The Eagles scattered five hits in the game. Ashlyn Dostal and McKenna Finnegan each managed two hits to lead The Eagles. Lakeland tore up the base paths, as three players stole at least two bases. Bergman led the way with two. Game #2 Even though The Eagles collected six hits to Fenton Tigers JV's five, they still fell 8-4. Emily Bowron took the loss for The Eagles. She lasted two innings, allowing zero hits and two runs while striking out two. The Eagles collected six hits. Campbell Sherrill and Ashlyn Dostal each had two hits to lead The Eagles.The Eagles tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. Sherrill led the way with two.

Lakeland JV Softball takes two in a doubleheader versus Kettering on Tuesday. In game one, The Eagles grabbed an early lead on its way to a 16-7 victory. The Eagles scored on an error, a single by Leah Kidder, a fielder's choice by Ashlyn Dostal, and a groundout by Madison Bowron in the second inning.   Kettering scored four runs in the first inning. The Eagles pulled away for good with five runs in the second inning. In the second an error scored two runs for The Eagles, Kidder singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run, Dostal hit into a fielder's choice, scoring one run, and Bowron grounded out, scoring one run. Lakeland notched seven runs in the fourth inning. Ashely Andre, Bella Shaw, Dostal, Bowron, and Kira Mears all drove in runs in the frame. Bowron led things off in the pitcher's circle for The Eagles. She allowed eight hits and seven runs over seven innings, striking out eight. The Eagles racked up 15 hits in the game. Dostal, McKenna Finnegan, Kidder, Mears, and Bowron all had multiple hits with Dostal going 3-for-4 In game two, The Eagles claimed a 13-4 victory. The Eagles fired up the offense in the second inning, when Ella Hufnagel singled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run. Emily Bowron got the start for Lakeland. She went seven innings, allowing four runs on six hits and striking out ten. The Eagles scattered 12 hits in the game. McKenna Finnegan, Ashlyn Dostal, and Jacklyn Higgins each managed multiple hits. Monday, the JV Softball team swept a doubleheader against Milford, winning 9-4 and 11-3. Game #1 In the first inning the Eagles got their offense started when Bella Shaw singled on a 3-2 count, scoring two runs. The Eagles put up three runs in the fifth inning. The offensive onslaught came from singles by Campbell Sherrill, Leah Kidder, and Ashlyn Dostal. The Eagles saw the ball well today, racking up 11 hits in the game. Kaylee Philipon, Alex Rossi, and Bella Shaw all collected multiple hits for Lakeland. Philipon led Lakeland with three hits in three at bats.   Game #2 The Eagles took the lead on a single in the first inning. The Eagles scored five runs in the second inning. The Eagles offense in the inning was led by McKenna Finnegan, Ashlyn Dostal, and Bella Shaw, all driving in runs in the inning. After Milford scored one run in the top of the fourth, the Eagles answered with one of their own. Emily Bowron led the The Eagles to victory on the rubber. Eagles Win: 15 - 9
The Eagles opened the season last Wednesday with a double header at South Lyon East. The Eagles lost the first game 10-9 on a last inning rally by South Lyon. Kaylee Philipon went 7 innings for the Eagles. She struck out 10. Ashlyn Dostal had two hits, while Philipon and Leah Kidder each added a hit. The Eagles took the second game 15-9. Emily Bowron got the win, striking out 2. The Eagles bats came alive collecting 9 hits. Ashlyn Dostal, Bella Shaw and Leah Kidder each had two hits, Kaylee Philipon added a double. Ella Hufnagel and Jacklyn Higgins each had a hit.
