Lakeland JV Softball takes two in a doubleheader versus Kettering on Tuesday.

In game one, The Eagles grabbed an early lead on its way to a 16-7 victory. The Eagles scored on an error, a single by Leah Kidder, a fielder's choice by Ashlyn Dostal, and a groundout by Madison Bowron in the second inning.   Kettering scored four runs in the first inning.

The Eagles pulled away for good with five runs in the second inning. In the second an error scored two runs for The Eagles, Kidder singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run, Dostal hit into a fielder's choice, scoring one run, and Bowron grounded out, scoring one run.

Lakeland notched seven runs in the fourth inning. Ashely Andre, Bella Shaw, Dostal, Bowron, and Kira Mears all drove in runs in the frame.

Bowron led things off in the pitcher's circle for The Eagles. She allowed eight hits and seven runs over seven innings, striking out eight.

The Eagles racked up 15 hits in the game. Dostal, McKenna Finnegan, Kidder, Mears, and Bowron all had multiple hits with Dostal going 3-for-4

In game two, The Eagles claimed a 13-4 victory.

The Eagles fired up the offense in the second inning, when Ella Hufnagel singled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run.

Emily Bowron got the start for Lakeland. She went seven innings, allowing four runs on six hits and striking out ten.

The Eagles scattered 12 hits in the game. McKenna Finnegan, Ashlyn Dostal, and Jacklyn Higgins each managed multiple hits. Finnegan led the way with three hits in four at bats. The Eagles tore up the base paths, as three players stole at least two bases. Bella Shaw led the way with two.
