Sunday, May 19th, the Varsity Softball team played 2 games as part of the Michigan Challenge Tournament, going 1-1 on the day.
In the first game, Kellie Mueller earned the win for the Eagles, as Lakeland defeated Lansing Waverly, 5-2. Mueller pitched four innings of scoreless ball, surrendering four hits. Haley Stein came on in relief to close out the game. Parker Ostach and Nathalie Hagle got it done at the plate. Each had two hits and drove in a run. Izzy Bedini, Paige Ambler, Brynn Taliercio and, Maddie Borders each had a hit in the victory.
In the second game, the Eagles put up eight hits but fell short to Whiteford by a score of 6-3. Aubrey VanGoethem had a single and two RBIs on the day. Emily Searle had a single and a solid day at third, getting the Eagles out of a bases-loaded jam, throwing two runners out at the plate and the third out at first. Izzy Bedini, Nathalie Hagle, Parker Ostach, Zoie Gagnon and, Emily Dostal all had hits in the game. Kellie Mueller started and was relieved by Malina WIng. Wing went three innings, giving up three hits and three runs.
The Eagles are back at it on Wednesday, May 22 when they face Walled Lake Northern at the LVC championship tournament. The game will be played at South Lyon.

Saturday, May 18th, the Varsity Softball team played 3 games in the Michigan Challenge Tournament, going 2-1 on the day.
Game One: Lakeland defeated Fenton 4-3 in the opener of the tournament. The Eagles got on the board in the first. Nathalie Hagle doubled and scored on Parker Ostach's single. Ostach then scored on Brynn Talercio's sacrifice. Fenton tied things up in the bottom of the first. The Eagles took the lead for good in the third when Brynn Taliercio tripled and scored on a sacrifice fly from Emilee Dostal. Kellie Mueller got the start and went three innings, giving up three runs on five hits. Haley Stein came on in relief, going the final four innings. Stein gave up zero runs on three hits. Mueller and Stein combined for seven strikeouts on the day.
Game Two: Parker Ostach doubled in the first, doubled in the fourth and, singled in the sixth to lead the Eagles to a 9-1 victory over Warren Mott. Paige Ambler had a couple hits, scored a run and recorded an RBI. Izzy Bedini, Brynn Taliercio, Emilee Dostal and, Zoie Gagnon each recorded a hit. Kellie Mueller and Haley Stein combined for a two-hitter in the circle. The duo struck out six.
Game Three: The Eagles ran out of gas in the final game of the day against sixth ranked Allen Park. Four errors in the field didn't help the Eagles as they lost 15-0 in four innings.
Lakeland Splits a doubleheader with #3 ranked South Lyon
In game one, both teams were strong in the circle but the South Lyon pitcher was a little bit stronger. The Eagles managed only one hit on the day, a single by Izzy Bedini. Kellie Mueller pitched 6 strong innings, surrendering two runs in five hits and striking out five. Final score: South Lyon 2 Lakeland 0
Game two was almost a carbon copy of game one but the Eagles were able to defeat South Lyon 2-1. Haley Stein was dominant in the circle, going seven innings, giving up two hits and one run while striking out three. Nathalie Hagle, Paige Ambler, Maddie Borders and, Brynn Taliercio each had hits for the Eagles. Borders and Ambler each had an RBI. The Eagles put pressure on the base paths, recording four stolen bases
Friday, May 10th, the Varsity Softball team swept two games from Waterford Mott, defeating the Corsairs 17-0 in both games.
In the first game, Brynn Taliercio was three for three with a double and three RBIs. Parker Ostach added two hits, drove in a run, and scored four runs. Tierney Finnegan and Zoie Gagnon each had a triple. Kellie Mueller got the start and the win. Mueller went two innings, giving up one hit and no runs. Meredith Peterson came on for the final two innings, giving up no runs and no hits, striking out four.
In game two, Izzy Bedini went four for four with three RBIs and scored two runs. Maddie Borders and Parker Ostach had three hits and scored two runs. Nathalie Hagle had two hits, scored two runs, and drove in two. Haley Stein went the distance, giving up one hit and no runs in the run-ruled victory. Lakeland improved to 20-5 on the season.
Tuesday, May 7th, the Varsity Softball team swept two games against Walled Lake Central, winning by a combined score of 31-4.
In the first game, the Eagles defeated the Vikings 17-0 thanks to a big 13-run first inning. Alyssa Goldman, Paige Ambler, and Parker Ostach each had two hits apiece. Goldman and Ostach drove in two runs each. The Eagles were aided by twelve walks. Haley Stein got the win, giving up no runs on one hit, Meredith Peterson pitched the final inning giving up one hit.
In game two, Lakeland put up eight runs in the fifth inning to cruise to a 14-4 victory. The Eagles were led at the plate by Maddie Borders and Emilee Dostal, each had two hits. Paige Amber, Meredith Peterson, Zoie Gagnon, Haley Stein, Brynn Taliercio, and Kellie Mueller each had a hit. Meredith Peterson got the start and went three innings, giving up four runs (3 earned) on seven hits. Kellie Mueller came on in relief to earn the win. Mueller pitched two innings giving up no runs on no hits. The Eagles improve to 18-5 on the season.
On Thursday May 2, the Varsity Softball team hosted Walled Lake Western in a conference matchup. In the first game, the Eagles put up five runs in the fourth and one in the fifth to earn a 6-0 victory. Parker Ostach led the hitting with a couple of hits and drove in a run. Brynn Talercio had a single and drove in two runs. Izzy Bedini, Paige Ambler and Nathalie Hagle each had a hit. Kellie Mueller went the distance on the mound. Mueller gave up 0 runs, extending her scoreless streak to eleven innings over two games, and five hits over seven innings.
In game two, Walled Lake Western jumped out to a 2-1 lead, but that was as close as it would get. Lakeland plated seven runs in the second, added another in the fourth and two more in the fifth and sixth to cruise to a 14-4 victory. Haley Stein got the victory in the circle, going six innings, giving up four runs (1 earned) on seven hits. Nathalie Hagle had a big day at the plate (2 Double, 2 Singles), going four for five and driving in four runs. Parker Ostach went two for three and drove in a couple. Izzy Bedini had two hits and scored two runs. Haley Stein had a double and drove in a run. Maddie Borders, Kellie Mueller, Zoie Gagnon, Brynn Talercio and Paige Ambler each had a hit.
The Eagles are back in action this week with a home game on Tuesday May 7 against Walled Lake Central. The Eagles travel to Waterford Mott on Thursday May 9.
On Tuesday April 30, the Varsity Softball team took on Detroit Country Day on Lakeland Senior Day.. In game one, Lakeland put up five runs in the third inning and ten runs in the fourth inning leading them to a 15-0 run ruled victory. Senior Kellie Mueller got the victory in the circle, pitching a perfect game. Mueller also had a couple hits and drove in a run. Seniors Parker Ostach (double, single) and Nathalie Hagle (double,single) each had two hits. Senior Addison Vogt doubled, drove in a run and scored a run. Sophomore Zoie Gagnon connected on her first home run as an Eagle. Juniors Paige Ambler (double,single) and Brynn Talercio (triple, single) each had a couple hits.Juniors Tierney Finnegan, Izzy Bedini and Emily Dostal each contributed a hit.
In the nightcap, Senior Haley Stein went six innings giving up five runs (two earned) on four hits to earn the 10-6 victory. Freshman Malina WIng made her Eagle debut on the mound in the seventh, recording the final three outs. Seniors Nathalie Hagle, Parker Ostach, Madi Nelson, Addison Vogt, Kellie Mueller, Maddie Borders and Haley Stein were all in the starting line up. Hagle and Ostach led the hitting attack with three hits apiece. Senior Madi Nelson drove in a run with a Sacrifice fly. Senior Maddie Borders switched to the left side of the batter's box and slapped a single. Kellie Mueller had two hits and drove in a run. Junior Brynn Talercio had two hits and drove in two runs. Paige Ambler had a hit and two RBI's. Junior Izzy Bedini singled and scored a run. Freshman Alyssa Goldman had a single as well as played some outstanding shortstop on the field.
Lakeland takes two out of three at the Anchor Bay Invitational, Saturday, April 27th
Lakeland defeated Gladstone (Ranked 4th in Division 3) 9-1 in game one of the tournament. Lakeland jumped out to a 3-1 lead on a single by Emilee Dostal that scored Parker Ostach and Brynn Talercio. Lakeland broke the game open in the fourth. Kellie Mueller led off the inning with a double to left. Tierney Finnegan pinch ran for Mueller. Izzy Bedini followed with a homer to center. Parker Ostach had two hits and scored two runs. Brynn Talercio and Maddie Borders each had a hit. Haley Stein went the distance giving up 1 run on two hits. Stein struck out three.
In game two, the Eagles put up three in the first, three in the third and, two in the fourth to coast to an 8-1 victory over New Boston Huron.Nathalie Hagle, Parker Ostach, Brynn Talercio each had two hits. Borders drove in three runs. Ostach added two RBI's. Alyssa Goldman, Paige Ambler and, Emilee Dostal each contributed a hit. Kellie Mueller got the win in the circle, giving up one run on seven hits.
In the tournament semi-final, the Eagles were up against #1 ranked Brownstown Woodhaven. Lakeland played a good game but couldn't get the key hit when needed.
The Eagles loaded the bases in the seventh with one out but couldn't get the runners in. Maddie Borders, Emilee Dostal, Kellie Mueller and, Alyssa Goldman each had hits in the game. Haley Stein started and went three innings, giving up six runs on eight hits. Kellie Mueller came on in relief. Mueller gave up zero runs on three hits in four innings of work.
Lakeland sweeps rival Milford, Thursday, April 25th
Lakeland got back in the win column with a decisive 14-1 victory over Milford. The Eagles pounded out 14 hits. Izzy Bedini led the Eagles with four hits, 4 runs and 2 RBI's. Paige Ambler added three hits, including two-run homer in the first. Nathalie Hagle and Parker Ostach each had two hits, Hagle drove in four. Brynn Talercio, Emilee Dostal and, Maddie Border each contributed a hit. Haley Stein gave up seven hits and one run in five innings of work to get the win.
In game two, Milford jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first but Lakeland battled back, putting up two in the first and three in the second. Lakeland went on the put up seven more in the 12-6 victory. Bedini had two hits, two runs and, two RBI's. Talercio added two hits and scored a couple of runs. Ambler, Hagle, Ostach, Borders, Dostal and, Zoie Gagnon each had a hit for the Eagles. Kellie Mueller got the start and the win. Mueller went 5 innings giving up 6 runs (5 earned) and struck out 3. Stein came on in relief in the sixth inning, giving up no runs and two hits while striking out three
Lakeland swept by Walled Lake Northern, Tuesday, April 23rd
Walled Lake Northern jumped out to a 10-0 lead in the first inning and coasted to a 16-1 Victory. The Eagles only managed two hits. Izzy Bedini provided the only offense with a solo home run in the third. Lakeland struggled in the field committing two errors.
Lakeland jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the second game. Izzy Bedini was hit by a pitch to lead off the game. Paige Ambler walked. Nathalie Hagle singled to left, driving in two runs. Parker Ostach doubled to left to drive in Hagle. The Eagles defense struggled again, committing six errors in the field as Northern battled back with four runs in the second and seven runs in the third. Northern went on to win 15-5. Only six of Northerns runs were earned.
Friday, April 19th, the Varsity Softball team swept two LVC games from South Lyon East.
In game one, Nathalie Hagle collected three hits in four a bats, as the Eagles defeated South Lyon East 12-4. Hagle singled in the first, third and fourth innings, driving in three on the day. A double by Parker Ostach and Sacrifice fly by Maddie Borders extended the lead in the third. The Eagles broke the game open in the fourth, scoring five runs. Bedini drew a walk, Paige Ambler singled, and Hagle singled driving in two. Brynn Talercio singled driving in a run. Emilee Dostal went three for four driving in three runs. Maddie Borders and Alyssa Goldman collected one hit apiece.
Haley Stein pitched a complete game. Stein gave up four runs (one earned) on eight hits. Stein struck out five on the day.
Game two was a classic pitchers duel. Kellie Mueller went the distance for the Eagles surrendering two runs (one earned) on six hits. Mueller struck out six on the day.
Lakeland scored two in the first. Izzy Bedinin singled. Paige Ambler doubled with Bedini advancing to third. Nathalie Hagle hit a sacrifice fly to center, scoring Bedini and advancing Ambler to third. Parker Ostach hit into a fielder's choice, Ambler out advaning to home. Brynn Talercio the hit a line drive triple to right, scoring Ostach.
The Eagles added one run in the sixth. Ambler led off the inning with a walk. Hagle doubled to right, advancing Ambler to third. Ostach perfectly executed the squeeze, scoring Ambler from third.
Thursday, April 18th, the Varsity Softball team swept two home games against Clakrston.
In game one, Lakeland battled back from a 5-run deficit to defeat Clarkston 6-5. Kellie Mueller, Emilee Dostal and Alyssa Goldman combined for four of Lakeland's seven hits in the victory. The score was tied in the sixth when Izzy Bedini doubled in the go ahead run. Dostal went two for three and Bedini drove in three on the day.
Haley Stein got the start and the win. Stein gave up five runs (three earned) on four hits while striking out five.
In the nightcap, the Eagles jumped out to an early lead and coasted to a 9-4 victory. In the first inning, Paige Ambler doubled and scored a run. Parker Ostach homered to center driving in two runs. The Eagles put up four more in the sixth with Nathalie Hagle doing the most damage with a two-run homer.
Kellie Mueller went the distance, earning the win. Mueller gave up four runs (three earned) on six hits.
Tuesday, April 16th, the Varsity Softball team split a double-header with state-ranked Lake Orion, winning the first game 6-2. The Eagles jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the first inning. Brynn Talercio doubled, scoring Paige Ambler and Parker Ostach. Maddie Borders followed Talercio with another double scoring Talercio. Nathalie Hagle hit a solo home run in the third to expand the lead. Overall the Eagles pounded out 8 hits. Ostach and Borders led the team with two hits apiece. Izzy Bedini and Paige Ambler each had a hit. Haley Stein went the distance, allowing 5 hits and 2 runs (0 earned) in picking up the win.
In the second game, the Eagles fell behind 5-1 in the third inning, but they came back to tie the game in the fourth inning and take the lead in the fifth. The Eagles were leading 7-6 after 5 but couldn't hold on, losing 15-7. Brynn Talercio lead the team with 3 hits, followed by Nathalie Hagle and Maddie Borders with 2 hits apiece. Paige Ambler, Parker Ostach, Kellie Mueller and Zoie Gagnon each contributed a hit. Gagnon drove in 3 runs, Ambler had 2 RBI's. Meredith Peterson got the start and took the loss. Ambler and Mueller pitched in relief.
The Eagles are back in action with 2 home games. They play Clarkston on Thursday and South Lyon East on Friday. Start times for both games are 4 PM.
On Wednesday, April 10th, the Girls Varsity Softball team hosted Mercy, ranked #2 in the state. The Marlins pitcher, committed to play at the University of Alabama, proved that she is one of the best players in the state as she threw a no-hitter, striking out 16 Eagles on the day. Mercy earned the 8-0 win.
Kellie Mueller got the start and the loss. Haley Stein pitched 5 strong innings in relief, allowing 5 hits and striking out 3.
Tuesday, the Varsity Softball team opened up LVC action with a convincing 2-game sweep of Waterford Kettering, outscoring the Captains 37-0.
In the opener, Parker Ostach drove in four runs on two hits to lead Lakeland to a 18-0 run-ruled victory. Ostach singled and hit a home run in the second inning driving in four runs. Kellie Mueller had two hits and drove in four runs. Alyssa Goldman had two hits and an RBI. Nathalie Hagle and Emily Dostal each had a hit and drove in a run. Meredith Peterson went the distance earning the win. Peterson scattered three hits and struck out three.
In the second game, Tierney Finnegan collected four hits and two RBI's as the Eagles defeated the Captains 19-0 in a run-ruled game. Finnegan single twice in the first, singled in the second and third. Izzy Bedini had 2 hits and 3 RBI's. Zoe Gagnon had two hits and an RBI. Madi Nelson, Haley Stein, Goldman and Dostal each had a hit. Addison Vogt walked twice and scored three runs. Haley Stein threw a three inning no-hitter getting the win. Stein struck out seven.

The Varsity Softball team scored five runs in the seventh inning, which helped them defeat Novi on Saturday 8-0 in their first game of the 2024 season.
Kellie Mueller earned the win and shutout. Mueller allowed three hits and struck out six over seven innings. The Eagles pounded out 9 hits, led by Paige Ambler who was 3 for 3. Parker Ostach was 2 for 4 with an RBI. Brynn Talercio had a hit and drove in 2 runs. Maddie Borders had a hit and and RBI. Alyssa Goldman made her freshman debut, contributing a hit and a walk.
The Eagles are back in action on Tuesday (4/9) at Waterford Kettering, Wednesday (4/10) at home vs Mercy and Friday (4/12) in a scrimmage against Holly.
