Tuesday, the Boys Freshman Basketball team came-from-behind to defeat Waterford Mott, 31-28. The game started with some hot shooting as both teams knocked down basket after basket in the opening minutes; at halftime, Mott led 20-16.  It was a slow 3rd quarter that finished with Mott in the lead, 24-21.  From there, constant defensive pressure applied by the Eagles allowed Lakeland to scrape out a 31-28 win. Cash Diaz and Eli Yen both scored 9 points to lead the way.  However, it was a combined defensive effort, along with some huge boards by Mitch Fitzgerald, that secured the victory. The team travels to Walled Lake Central this Friday for a 4pm tip-off.

Friday, the Boys Freshman Basketball team defeated Waterford Kettering by a score of 49-16. Eli Yen had 11 points and Walker Lewinski added 7 points. Nine other Eagles also made it into the scoring column for the game. Derek Varga was a standout on defense throughout the game.

Tuesday, the Boys Freshman Basketball team played solidly in all facets of the game, defeating Walled Lake Central, 37-31. The Eagles fell behind by 9 points in the first quarter, but a couple forced turnovers on the defensive end led to some transition lay-ups, allowing Lakeland to tie the game 20-20 at halftime.  In the 2nd half, Walker Lewinski hit his 4th 3-pointer of the game on the first possession, and Lakeland never looked back.  Lewinski finished with 12 points, while Mitchell Fitzgerald added 10 points.  Cash Davis, Jack Schneider, and Derek Varga provided some strong defense and rebounds. The team will travel for a 4pm game this Friday at Waterford Kettering.
