Tuesday, the Boys Freshman Basketball team played solidly in all facets of the game, defeating Walled Lake Central, 37-31.
The Eagles fell behind by 9 points in the first quarter, but a couple forced turnovers on the defensive end led to some transition lay-ups, allowing Lakeland to tie the game 20-20 at halftime.
In the 2nd half, Walker Lewinski hit his 4th 3-pointer of the game on the first possession, and Lakeland never looked back. Lewinski finished with 12 points, while Mitchell Fitzgerald added 10 points. Cash Davis, Jack Schneider, and Derek Varga provided some strong defense and rebounds.
The team will travel for a 4pm game this Friday at Waterford Kettering.
