On Saturday, April 13th, the Boys Volleyball program hosted their 2nd annual Eagle Invite. The all day tournament brought in 16 competitive schools from across the state all under one roof! 

The Eagles started their day in pool play facing Grand Blanc, Forest Hills Eastern, and Saline. First up, the boys faced a first year Grand Blanc team earning the win with 2 set scores both at 25-5. Next, the boys faced a veteran west side school, Forest Hills Eastern. With a good combination of hard work and team work, the Eagles remained undefeated taking the 2 set victory at 25-15, 25-22. Last up in pool play, the undefeated Eagles faced an undefeated Saline team. The Hornets remained strong and consistent on the offense, and the Eagles dropped both sets 11-25 and 13-25.

Finishing pool play with a 4-2 set score earned the boys a seed in the Gold Bracket playoffs! The Eagles were matched with pool winner and west side school, Grandville. After facing a strong offensive Saline, Grandville had an even stronger defense picking up a lot that the Eagles were throwing at them, and the boys fell to the Bulldogs 23-25, 16-25.

Leading the Eagles for the day were junior Jacob Valenton with 8 aces and 32 digs, junior Derek Varga with 27 assists, sophomore Zach Dobrin with 18 kills, and junior Harrison Vivier with 2 solo blocks!

At the end of the day, the boys finished happy to host both new and multi year programs showing off their talent! Congratulations to Grand Haven for their tournament win in 3 sets to the Saline Hornets!
