Back in March, the Lakeland Boys Volleyball team traveled to Avondale High School starting their season with unfinished business vs. their 2023 conference: Avondale, Catholic Central, and Dakota. The day was all about building team chemistry between new and returning players, and adjusting our game missing our injured captain, Derek Varga. The boys finished the night losing to a hungry and competitive Avondale 11-25, 16-25. Also, losing to a strong Catholic Central 14-25, 15-25. The boys were able to fight to earn a 2nd set win to tie against the 2023 conference champions, Dakota. Final scores against the Cougars were 15-25, and 26-24 after going on an 8 point scoring run by Zach Dobrin to take the set.
Leading Eagles of the night were Sophomore Zach Dobrin with 3 aces and 10 kills, Junior Joey Beck with 15 digs, and Junior Jacob Valenton with 12 assists.
