The Huron Valley United Gymnastics team competed in its first meet of the year at the Holt Invitational on Saturday. The team placed 3rd, narrowly missing 2nd place out of 20 teams.
Top performers for the day were Lakeland freshman, Halie Martin placing 9th on vault with an 8.5. 4 girls placed on bars: Lakeland sophomore, Paige Elwood in 9th, Lakeland junior, Rachel Palaian in 7th, Lakeland sophomore, Nicole Graham in 4th and IA freshman in 2nd place with an 8.7. Nicole Graham placed 3rd on beam with a 9.4 and Lakeland senior Erin Murphy placed 7th on floor with an 8.95. Nicole Graham placed 4th in the all around with a 34.175.
The gymnasts had a great day and it was an awesome way to start the season. Next up is the Fowlerville Invite on Dec. 7th.
