Last Friday, the Girls Track team had a number of student-athletes compete in the MHSAA Regional event at Lake Orion. Participants were vying for the opportunity to move on the State Meet held at East Kentwood H.S. on Saturday, June 5th.
Sophomore Megan Davenport sprinted to 2nd place in the 100m dash, finishing in 12.84 seconds. With her runner-up finish, Megan earned a trip to the Track & Field State Meet.
Senior Aria Novello finished 3rd in the 1600m race, setting a new PR with a time of 5:21.75. The Lakeland Girls 4x100m relay (Davenport, Faith Randall, Emily Keller, and Elena Hale) finished 4th in a time of 52.08. The 4x200m relay (Keller, Ava Walsh, Cecilia Neumann, and Natalie Hoyer) finished 8th. Sophomore Kennedy Hudson set a new PR in the long jump at 15'4" on her way to a 7th place finish.
