The LHS Girls Snowboard Cross team had its first race of the season Thursday evening at Alpine Ski Valley. The night’s races were for the individual varsity bracket where all riders from competing schools compete against each other individually to gain points that accumulate over the season.
Varsity riders Kate Hanneman, Nevaeh Chambers, and Addison Sievert all had at least one 1st place finish. Riders Nevaeh Chambers and Addison Sievert all made it through to the semi-finals where they were eliminated just shy of the finals.
Making it through three heats with two 1st place finishes and a 2nd place finish, rider Kate Hanneman made her way to the final heat where she placed 2nd overall out of 28 riders!
The LHS Snowboard Cross team will take on the hill again on Tuesday, January 23rd at Alpine Ski Valley for the team bracket races.
