The Lakeland High School figure skating team competed on Sunday December 16th at the Hartland Sports Center.  The team had a great start to the season with a First place finish for Both A and B teams, and a second place finish for the C team. 

Some highlights include: 
In Jumps, on A team Isabella Pagogna (SR and Co- Captain) and Abigail Hrbosky (FR) helped jumps secure a straight one victory (by 5 judges) over the other schools. Eva Samoylov (SR and Co-Captain) helped the B team place 2nd and on C team Stefanie Garbacz (SR) helped the team finish a strong third.

In Moves Maggie Lynch (SR & Co- Captain ) and Courtney Luck (SR) helped the A team skate Into a solid 2nd place.  Alison Haskell (JR) and Hannah Riley Jeannette (FR) contribute a strong skate on B Team to secure a 1st place with straight ones by all 5 judges. C Team finished 2nd with Madelynn Leblanc-Wakefield (SO) showing a strong skate to secure a good lead. 

The last element were the spins which the team didn’t disappoint. A team started with another 1st place victory, contributing to this was Kayla Runestad (JR) and Emily Schelling (Brighton JR).  B team also finished a strong first place with the help from Samantha Peterson (SO) and Chloe Pagogna (FR). Rachelle Noch (SR) helped secure a second place finish for the C Team.

A Team goes into the 2nd competition with one point ahead of the 2nd place team Washtenaw Edge, B team is 4 points ahead of the second place Lakes Area and Washtenaw Edge.  C team is 3 points behind the first place team (Howell). Next competition to be held is at the Lakeland Arena on Sunday January 13th 11:00am to 3:00pm.
