Saturday, May 4th, the Girls Varsity Tennis team competed in the Milford Invite. The Eagles had several strong performances resulting in medals for four student-athletes.
Madeline Akarackian earned a Gold Medal at #1 Singles, defeating Brighton in her final match. Court 2 player Bre Azzopardi won a silver medal. The unstoppable Court 1 Doubles team of Ava Assante and Sunny Bikki also won a gold medal.

On Thursday, May 2nd, the Girls Varsity Tennis team swept all 6 games versus Waterford Mott, defeating the Corsairs, 6-0.
A highlight from the match came from the Doubles team of Gabi Dziedzic and Clara Krawcyzk who came back from being down a set to win their game.
Wednesday, May 1st, the Girls Varsity Tennis team defeated Walled Lake Central for the first time in over 6 years, defeating the Vikings, 7-2.
Standout performances: Court 1 singles player Madeline Akarakcian, who came back from a set down to defeat WLC in a dominating 3rd; Court 2 singles Bre Azzopardi; Court 3 singles Gabbi Putrus who remains undefeated; Court 4 singles Madison Thompson; and the Court 4 doubles team of Alex Bell and Tegan Ostach and Court 5 doubles team of Leanna Yen and Zuni Murshed, both of whom secured big wins.
On Wednesday, April 24th, the Girls Varsity Tennis team played a tough match against Hartland, losing 5-4.
Court 3 singles Gabbi Putrus, Court 1 doubles Ava Assante and Sunny Bikki, and Court 5 doubles Addison Bellanca and Tegan Ostach defeated their opponents in straight sets. Court 2 doubles team Dani Pop and Alexis Petty won in a thrilling 3rd set tie breaker to bring home another win for Lakeland. The entire team fought hard with Court 1 singles Madeline Akarakcian and Court 3 doubles team Zuni Murshed and Madeline Bergmoser forcing their opponents into tiebreakers
Tuesday, April 16th, the Girls Varsity Tennis lost a tough match against South Lyon by a final score of 7-2. Lakeland fought hard until the end with Dani Pop and Zuni Murshed losing in 3rd set tiebreaker. Despite several tough losses, Sunny Bikki and Ava Assante defeated their opponents at court 1 doubles winning 6-1, 6-2. Gabbi Putrus remains undefeated at court 3 singles defeating her opponent in straight sets as well.
Monday, the Girls Varsity Tennis team started their season with a scrimmage match against Clarkston. Lakeland suffered a tough loss against a strong Clarkston team winning 3 of the 9 courts. Stand out performances go to Court 2 Singles Madeline Akarakcian who won her first match as a Varsity Tennis player in straight sets. Court 3 singles Gabbi Putrus won her first singles match of her Varsity career. Court 1 doubles duo Ava Assante and Dani Pop dominated against a strong Clarkston team. It was a great start to the Girls Varsity Tennis Season!
