Boys Varsity Tennis returns to the MHSAA State Finals

Eagles Lose: -
This past Friday/Saturday, the Boys Varsity Tennis team made a return trip to the MHSAA Division 2 State Finals. The team earned 4 points in the early rounds before being eliminated, placing them 15th out of 26 teams that made it to the State Finals.
Lakeland wins coming in the first round from Noah Weinberger, Alex Li, Lincoln Cormier/ Eli Yen, and Nolan Osterhart/ Booker Ostach. Joey Swartz and Jamey Sanderson/ Sid Saravanakumar got a bye in the first round but lost in their close matches during the second round.

Great news from the Boys Tennis program:
Lakeland Varsity Boys Tennis participated in the MHSAA Regionalon Wednesday, October 11th. 1-4 singles and 2-4 doubles won their first round of matches. 1 singles, 3 singles, 4 singles, and 4 doubles all won their second round as well. This secured the team with 11 total points, good enough for a 3rd place finish behind North Farmington and Walled Lake Central. And with that 3rd place finish, the team earned a return trip to the MHSAA State Finals to be held next weekend (Oct. 20-21).

In its final LVC competition of the season, the Boys Varsity Tennis team earned 7 points to finish 3rd at the Lakes Valley Conference tournament. For the season, the Eagles took 3rd in the overall LVC standings.

Last Tuesday, the Boys Varsity Tennis team moved to 2-1 for the season by defeating South Lyon, 6-2. All four singles flights won their matches, as well as the #3 and #5 doubles flights.
