A tough week for Lakeland Girls Ski Team in our 4th week of regular season matchups. This week, the Girls team took on the very tough Milford and Orchard Lake St. Mary's United. The conditions were unlike any we have seen and proved to be too dangerous for a full race both Tuesday for the slalom and Wednesday for the GS. Usually races are scored on 2 runs of each discipline, but the races had to be cut short and scored on 1 run of each, due to snow that lacked any structure and became unsafe to continue.

Our Girls team put up a valiant fight against Milford and lost a close matchup. They were down one of their top 4 racers after a crash the first night caused a injury that kept her benched for the week. The Final score was LHS 42.5 MHS 30.5. The Girls skied tough against OLSU and marked another in the win column with a final of LHS 27 OLSU 52. Top racers for the girls team this week were freshman Molly Lynch (4th in the ten team field in slalom and 12th GS), junior Brooke White (10th slalom and 7th GS), senior Chloe Lynch (17th Slalom and 10th GS), and senior Autumn Christensen (18th Slalom and 12 GS). The Girls record in the Alpine Valley Division is now 6 wins and 1 loss.

Next week Tuesday is our makeup race that was cancelled the first week against Marian and Hartland and the Divisional Championship on Thursday!
