Thursday, the Lakeland Girls Ski Team raced in the Region 3 Championship at Mt. Brighton against 12 other teams. The top 3 teams and Top 10 Individuals in each Slalom and GS qualify to go to States. The Girls Team was on fire, finishing 3rd overall to qualify for States.
Top skiers for the girls were senior Katie White with a 1st overall (Regional Champion) in Slalom and 2nd in GS, sophomore Brooke White, senior Olivia Racine, junior Angela Salmeto, junior Chloe Lynch, and junior Autumn Christensen. The top 3 Girls teams were within 8 points of each other and Lakeland finished 1st in GS and 3rd in Slalom for a combined score of 109.
The Girls Team and Alec Day will be heading to Schuss Mountain for the Division 1 State Final on Feb. 25.
