Boys Varsity Skiing finishes 5th overall at Divisional Meet; Brock Vinter and Max Heger qualify for SEMSL meet

What a journey for our Lakeland Boys Ski Team this year! Finishing the regular season with a 2-5 record, the boys faced their share of challenges but turned it around with an impressive showing at the Divisional Championship on Thursday, February 6th.
The day started with a 4-hour delay due to icy roads, but that didn't cool our spirits.
**Slalom Performance:**
In the Slalom, we managed a 6th place finish with 128 points:
- Brock Vinter: 14th place, 54.53 seconds, contributing 14 points.
- Gabe Scott: 32nd place, 1:03.33, adding 32 points.
- Joe Howie: 36th place, 1:04.67, contributing 36 points.
- Quinton Mazzara: 46th place, 1:14.41, adding 46 points.
- Logan Henck: 49th place, 1:20.94, did not score.
- Brock Boyd: 50th place, 1:23.20, did not score.
- Max Heger: Did not finish (DNF), did not score.
**Giant Slalom Breakthrough:**
But the real story was in the Giant Slalom, where our team not only improved but shone brightly, securing 4th place with 83 points:
- **Brock Vinter**: 9th place, 40.20 seconds, also clinching a spot for SEMSL due to his exceptional run.
- **Max Heger**: 15th place, 41.72 seconds, a stellar performance that qualified him for the SEMSL Championships.
- Gabe Scott: 25th place, 43.32 seconds, contributing 25 points.
- Brock Boyd: 34th place, 44.89 seconds, adding 34 points.
- Joe Howie: 38th place, 45.62 seconds, did not score.
- Quinton Mazzara: 48th place, 50.14 seconds, did not score.
- Logan Henck: 55th place, 53.95 seconds, did not score.
**Qualification for SEMSL:**
Thanks to the outstanding performances by Max Heger and Brock Vinter, they've both earned their spots in the SEMSL Championships. Their dedication, skill, and the heart they've shown on the slopes have culminated in this well-deserved achievement.
A big shout-out to the entire team for their hard work and spirit this season. Ending 5th overall in the division standings, you've all shown remarkable growth and potential. Here's to Max and Brock for their qualifications, and to the whole team for their perseverance.
