A tough week for Lakeland Boys Ski Team in our 4th week of regular season matchups. This week, the Boys  took on the very tough Milford and Orchard Lake St. Mary's United. The conditions were unlike any we have seen and proved to be too dangerous for a full race both Tuesday for the slalom and Wednesday for the GS. Usually races are scored on 2 runs of each discipline, but the races had to be cut short and scored on 1 run of each, due to snow that lacked any structure and became unsafe to continue.

In the Boys race, Milford proved too strong and they took a loss with a final of LHS 45 MHS 31. The matchup against OLSU was so close and the boys were ahead in slalom, but fell back a couple points in GS for another mark in the loss column. Final score LHS 38 and OLSU 36. Top racers for the boys this week were senior Zach Massey (2nd overall in Slalom and 16th in GS), senior Shane Herning (10th in SL and GS), senior Brendan Ploucha (24th SL and 17th GS), junior Tyson Lovejoy, and junior Jack Percy. The boys are now at 4 wins and 3 losses in the Alpine Division.

Next week Tuesday is our makeup race that was cancelled the first week against Brother Rice/Marian and Hartland and the Divisional Championship on Thursday!
