This past Friday and Saturday, the Lakeland Boys Ski Team kicked off the race season at Boyne Mountain at the Northville Invite. With only 5 racers participating, the team finished 2nd. Top racers for the boys were senior Jake Wagner (2nd in slalom, 3rd in GS), senior Zach Massey (5th slalom, 6th GS), senior Shane Herning (7th SL & GS) and senior Brendan Ploucha (12th GS).

This week Lakeland was scheduled to race Brother Rice/Marian and Hartland on Tuesday and Wednesday, but that race has been postponed until Feb 4, due to the lack of snow with the warm weather. Jan 14 & 15, Lakeland will take on WLC, WLW, and W. Bloom. at Alpine Valley beginning at 4:30 pm.
