Boys Varsity Skiing finishes 5th at Regionals; Alec Day qualifies for State Finals

Thursday, the Lakeland Boys Ski Team raced in the Region 3 Championship at Mt. Brighton against 12 other teams. The top 3 teams and Top 10 Individuals in each Slalom and GS qualify to go to States. The Boys team had a tough day but hung in there for a 5th place finish, but did have an individual qualifier in Alec Day.
The boys had a tough day in slalom and came back stronger in the afternoon GS. Top Skiers for the Boys were senior Alec Day with 7th in GS (qualifies for States), senior Tommy McCarthy 14th in GS, junior Zach Massey 16th in GS, senior Trevor Lemp with 29th in GS, sophomore Tyson Lovejoy, and junior Jacob Wagner.
Alec Day will be heading to Schuss Mountain for the Division 1 State Final on Feb. 25.
