Last week, the Varsity Softball team split a doubleheader with South Lyon.  The Eagles won the first game, 14-4, and lost the second game, 8-5.

 

Lakeland 14 South Lyon 4

 

Emily Searle drove in five runs on two hits to lead Lakeland to a 14-4 victory over South Lyon. Searle doubled in the fifth scoring three, doubled in the fourth scoring two, and walked in the third scoring one. Zoie Gagnon added a double in the fifth, driving in a run.  Melina Wing earned the win for the Eagles.  Wing surrendered five hits and three runs (one earned).

 

Lakeland 5 South Lyon 8

 

Brynn Taliercio collected four hits in four at bats, but Lakeland fell to South Lyon 8-5.  Taliercio doubled in the first, singled in the third and fourth and hit a homerun in the sixth.
