Thursday, April 24th, the Varsity Softball team swept a doubleheader at Walled Lake Central, defeating the Vikings 5-4 and 9-6.
Lakeland 5 Walled Lake Central 4
The Eagles jumped out to a 4 run lead in the third inning and held on to defeat Walled Lake Central. Emily Searle led the Eagles with 2 hits, including a home run, and 2 RBI's. Izzy Bedini collected 2 hits. Alyssa Goldman hit her first career home run. Zoie Gagnon collected 2 hits. Melina Wing had a double at the plate and pitched a complete game to pick up the win. Wing gave up 4 runs, (3 earned) on 10 hits and struck out 6.
Lakeland 9 Walled Lake Central 6
Noelle O'Dowd drove in four runs on three hits to lead the Eagles over Walled Lake Central. Alyssa Goldman had 3 hits and drove in 2. Izzy Bedini had 3 hits. Emily Searle and Melina Wing added a couple hits. Zoie Gagnon, Paige Ambler and Aubrey VanGoethem rounded out the hitting. Paige Ambler picked up the win on the mound. Ambler gave up 6 runs in 9 hits and struck out 2.
