Wednesday, May 21st, the Girls Varsity Soccer team competed in the opening round of the MHSAA State Playoffs, traveling to Hartland for a match-up of Eagles.  The host team entered the game as one of the top-ranked teams in the state, and they showed why in the game, defeating Lakeland 8-0.  

After being denied numerous chances, Hartland opened up the scoring eight minute into the match. They continued to press hard scoring several more goals, including two earned penalty kicks that were converted. Lakeland put in maximum effort against a very strong opponent, never letting up and showing excellent teamwork and sportsmanship throughout the match.  With the loss, Lakeland's season comes to an end.
