The Huron Valley United Boys Swim and Dive team returned to the pool to kick off the new year by hosting Hartland, Clarkston, and North Farmington for the 2022 Boy Huron Valley Invitational.

The meet came down to the wire, with Hartland prevailing over HVU for 1st, 217 to 216.

While the team did not come home with the 1st place trophy, there were many great performances throughout the day. Divers Alex Broadwater and Hunter Houser started off the day with personal best performances to take the runner up spots in the 6 and 11 dive events, respectively. Skylar Jess-Iseneggar also posted an 11 dive best performance to take 3rd.

In the swimming events, there were a number of first place finishers; Fletcher Smith in the 200 and 100 Butterfly, Hassan Ezzeddine in the 200 IM and 500 Freestyle, Mason Brow in the 50 Freestyle, Rowan Enyeart in the 500, Xander Snider in the 500, Lorenzo Giovenelli in the 100 Breaststroke.

The 400 Freestyle Relay Team of Smith, Brow, Brendan Marshall and Ezzeddine set a new season best time to win that event, with the leadoff leg of 47.83 breaking the MIlford Pool and HVU team records in the 100 Freestyle.

The 200 Freestyle relay team of Smith, Brow, Giovanelli and Ezzeddine set a new HVU team record to win that event in 1:33.81

HVU begins its Lakes Valley Conference schedule with a home contest vs Walled Lake Northern on January 13th, @ Milford HS
