The Huron Valley United Boys Swim & Dive opened up its season on the road, with a narrow 89-97 loss to Hartland.

The team overcame missing 5 days of practice in the last 2 weeks to post a number of personal bests and qualifying times throughout the meet.

The medley relay of Freshman Brendan Marshall, senior Lorenzo Giovannelli, senior Fletcher Smith and junior Mason Brow won with a MISCA qualifying time of 1:44.75. This performance was also 4 seconds faster than the team's best time last year.

Smith also won the 200 Free and the 100 Butterfly, the latter in which he achieved a state qualifying mark and broke the Hartland pool record with a time of 53.14

Senior Hassan Ezzeddine partnered up with Marshall to take 1st and 3rd in the 200 IM with both swimmers achieving a personal best. Ezzaddine achieved the MISCA qualification mark for this event.

Continuing his momentum from anchoring the medley Relay, Mason Brow swam to a personal best time in the 50 free while narrowly getting touched out for the event win.

In diving, Huron Valley's five divers opened up the season with a strong set of efforts on the boards. Freshman Jack Crossett, sophomore Skylar Jess-Isenegger, and junior Alex Broadwater all scored personal bests while junior Hunter Houser fought through an injury for a runner up finish.

In the 100 Backstroke, Brendan Marshall again posted a personal best and county consideration cut en route to winning the event.

Athlete of the meet was sophomore Xander Snider for achieving personal bests in both the 500 Free and the 100 backstroke

Huron Valley's next competition is January 7th and 8th @ Milford HS where they host the Boys Huron Valley Invitational.
