Friday, the Hockey team opened up MHSAA Regional action by defeating Rochester Hills Stoney Creek, 4-1.
Lakeland jumped out to a 2-0 lead after the first period on goals by Nate Dell (Trzcinski, Martin) and Brendan Day (Scanlon, Grant). The Eagles added to the lead with a goal by Tim Hinkle (Grant, Scanlon) in the 2nd. Austin Scanlon added a goal in the 3rd to neutralize a goal by Stoney Creek. Paul Baker stopped 12 of 13 shots in net to earn the win for Lakeland.
Next, Lakeland will take on Brother Rice on Wednesday, February 28th. The game will be a 5:30pm start and will be played at Oak Park Ice Arena.
