Friday, the Varsity Hockey team had a quick turnaround at the Trenton Showcase, meeting the Forest Hills Central Lumberjacks after defeating Saginaw Heritage the previous day.

Lakeland popped in two in the first period.  Bryce Martin scored the first thanks to Carter Sutton taking his own faceoff win back to Martin who tatooed it under the FHC goalie's pads.  Later on the man advantage Scanlon knocked in a rebound off of a Tryzcinski shot after Brennan Grant took a few swipes at it.    2-0 after one.   

In the second period the Lumberjacks took the wood to the Eagles to tie up the game.  2-2 after two.   In the third the teams traded scoring chances until FHC felled the Eagles netting the eventual game winner with four minutes remaining.   They added an empty netter to seal the win.  4-2 final.

Coach Ronayne on the showcase:  "The bottom line is this is the type of competition we wanted.  We had different adversity in both games and our response was different as well.  We'll address both the positive and the negative this week."
