On Saturday, the Boys Hockey team was featured in the annual Clash for a Cause meetup vs. Walled Lake United. The Eagles offense proved too much for the Whitecaps. Sophomore Austin Scanlon scored the opening goal (B. Grant, Tim Hinkle). Junior Ryan Danielson scored later in the period by dishing a Dell face off win up ice to Tryzcinski who gained the WLU zone and hot-potatoed the puck back to a hard skating Danielson. Danielson zipped the puck over the Cap's tender for a 2-0 lead after one.

In the second period, Bryce Martin scored his second goal of the season when an innocent looking shot found the back of the net (Hinkle, Tryzcinski). Hinkle would later score a lovely goal thanks to an 80-foot Goff-like pass from Brennan Grant (Buback). In the third period Hinkle returned the favor finding Grant in the slot for a Sportscenter top 10 worthy between the legs hold-my-soda goal. Grant finished off the scoring for a commanding 6-1 Eagles win.

Coach Ronayne on the importance of the annual benefit game: "It's important to acknowledge there are circumstances carrying far more weight than a game played with sticks and pucks. It's heart warming to see the boys playing for their loved ones impacted by cancer. We've got our #10 retired jersey reminding us that it's a fight worth fighting. We keep going no matter what. We support family and friends in recovery and those whose battle is ongoing."
