Last Wednesday, the Hockey team kicked off LVC league play vs Lakes Area United. Lakes scored first on a point shot senior Goalie Paul Baker lost in traffic. Sophomore Killian Voorhies evened the game in the 2nd period on a neat breakaway goal. Lakes answered to go up by one until Ryan Danielson continued his scoring streak burying a powerplay rebound (assists to Brendan Day and Voorhies). But Lakeland's multi-season league win streak was finally broken when a Lakes Area two man advantage ended with a puck zipped over Baker's shoulder for the win 3-2.

Coach Ronayne: "Lakes Area outworked us from the first puck drop. We took way too many penalties and were careless with the puck. Disappointing effort and lack of toughness for us but all credit to Lakes Area. They are going to make some noise in the LVC this year."
