TRENTON HIGH SCHOOL: 3

On Saturday, November 25th, the Varsity Hockey team traveled downriver to face perennial powerhouse Trenton on their home ice. The Eagles gave up two early goals in the first period before settling in to pull within one goal in the second when senior defenseman Brendan Day collected a pass from junior Jacob Kintz and found junior Ryan Danielson in the slot. Danielson tucked the puck in for his third goal in three games. Midway through the third period the Trojans added an insurance goal they had to cash in when senior Brennan Grant scored an unassisted powerplay goal. Grant found himself with the puck in the high slot thanks to a strong rush into the Trojan's zone by junior Adam Trzcinski. Trzcinski curled toward the boards and found junior Bryce Martin. Martin caught the tipped path in his glove, snapped a quick shot that was blocked but Grant finished the scoring play. Final score 3-2 Trojans.

The Eagles pulled goalie Paul Baker but could not muster the equalizer. Coach Ronayne: "Trenton is a top program in the state. We wanted a tough schedule this season and couldn't ask for any better to test our mettle. Going down early 2-0 was not an ideal start. We were not happy with the effort in the first but I'm pleased with how they responded. Paul was solid in net and we had a couple of nice goals on the PP."
