Saturday, the Varsity Hockey team managed a 7-4 win over the Clarkston Wolves. The brothers Slicker led the way when sophomore goalie Jason Slicker was tested early and often turning back an impressive 27 of 31 shots to notch the win.  Cam Slicker lent a hand scoring and assisting on four of Lakeland's seven goals.  

The Wolves spent most of the first period in Lakeland's D zone hounding the Eagle's defense and peppering Slicker.   But they only dropped in a single goal while the Eagle's scored two on just four shots.   Matthew Zaremba (Cam Slicker) scored first finding the back of the net with a guided wrist shot from the point off of a Clarkston defender.  Later Nick Hrobsky scored the first of two Lakeland PP goals (Slicker, Owen Arnold).  

Lakeland came out buzzing in the second period scoring four unanswered goals. Will Petersmark led off the sequence with an even strength strike from Jacob Lewis.  Luke Weinberger continued his scoring dominance netting two goals one from Slicker and the second unassisted with an impressive short handed effort - sliding his own rebound past the Clarkston tender.  Slicker also dropped in a nifty 5-3 man advantage puck set up by Lewis.

Clarkston gathered themselves and won the third period - scoring three for LHS' lone goal (Fisher Christian from Kyle Sierota and Caden Pierson).

Coach Ronayne on the win in spite of being outshot two to one: "We played well in spurts and had our moments obviously.  We made our shots count I guess.  But without strong goalie play the score would have been different.  Sierota was a difference maker out there tonight.  He drew a nasty hit late in the first and that fired him up for the rest of the game."
