As part of a 2-game outing on Saturday, the Boys Varsity Hockey team took on the Davison Cardinals in a low scoring battle that ended in a 2-2 tie.  

The Cardinals went on top early in the game on a turnover deep in the Eagles zone.   Despite outshooting Davison by a very wide margin LHS found themselves tied 1-1 after two thanks to Senior captain Nick Hrobsky breaking Davison's egg with a quick wrister from the slot (assists credited to Kyle Baker and Cam Slicker).   Davison went up again in the third forcing Lakeland to pull goalie Paul Baker with two minutes remaining.   After a furious onslaught Sophomore Luke Weinberger tipped a hard point shot from Hrobsky over Cardinals goalie Scott York with just 40 seconds remaining.  

The eight minute overtime was all Lakeland who peppered York with 13 shots, none finding their way over the goal line.

Coach Ronayne on the game said "We play Davison every season and look forward to the game.  They have always been a well coached class program and we know we're in for a great game every year.  Tonight was no exception.  It took everything we had to get that equalizer past their goalie (Scott York).  I think he stopped close to 50 shots tonight.  A real talent."
