This past weekend, the Varsity Hockey team went one and one as part of a roadtrip to Northern Michigan. The first game saw the Eagles out-shoot the Big Rapids Cardinals 35-14 but drop the game 1-0. Senior goalie Carter MacEwen stopped 13 of 14 shoots.
The second game had the Eagles taking on the host Sault Blue Devils. Lakeland dominated the Blue Devils from the first puck drop, winning by a margin of 6-0. Senior Captain Ben Getzen paced the Eagles with a goal and two assists along with Assistant Captains Ryan Ramboer, goal and assist and Alex Libby, two assists. Brendan Hannifen, Matthew Zaremba, Will Petersmark, and Cameron Slicker all chipped in a goal each. Jason Slicker notched the shut out in goal.
The Eagles take on Royal Oak in the home opener on December 4th, Wednesday evening at 7 pm at Lakeland Arena.
