Wednesday, a highly anticipated Varsity Baseball game played at Saline between two state-ranked teams did not disappoint as the game went down to the final at-bat with Saline eeking out the win, 3-2.

Kyle Zavinsky turned in a quality start in his first varsity appearance on the mound going three innings and striking out 5.

Caden Duryea had two hits including a solo home run in the 5th. Andrew Platt and Kevin Krill each added two hits. Tate Farquhar and Ryan Abray rounded out the score sheet with a hit a piece as well.

The Eagles had their chance in with a two out rally in the top of the seventh when they loaded the bases before a strikeout ended the game.

Lakeland next takes the field Friday and Saturday in a three game LVC series vs. MHS.
