Tuesday, February 11th, the Girls Junior Varsity team hosted conference foe South Lyon, falling 28-15.  The Eagles came out with a different defensive gameplan than the first meeting with the Cougars.  Instead of Lakeland’s normal ¾ court press, a half court man strategy was employed keeping the game close after one quarter with South Lyon leading 7-2.  In the second quarter the Eagles kept pace with the Cougars only trailing 6-12 at the half.  Coming out of the break, Lakeland was able to find a way to find more offence, but South Lyon also was able to find their groove, again extending their lead by 1 (20-13).  South Lyon was able to wear down Lakeland in the fourth quarter expanding their lead to 13 sweeping the season series 2-0, 28-15.

Scoring Leaders:  Alyssa Goldman led with 12 points, Sammy McDonald contributed 2 and Morgan Dial pitched in with 1.

Both teams shoot limited free throws:   (Lakeland: 3/6, 50%.      South Lyon: 4/8, 50%)

Lakeland falls to 12-5, 8-4 in the conference.
