The Huron Valley United Gymnastics Team had a great weekend at the MHSAA State Finals at Kenowa Hills High School in Grand Rapids. They sent 9 individual gymnasts to compete for state medals on Saturday and came away with quite a few. Even those who didn't come away with a top 10 finish did a great job and earned some personal best scores.
Lakeland freshman Alayna Lince was the lone freshman in the all-around competition for D2 this year. Although she didn't medal at this competition, she has incredible potential the next three years to be on the medal stand. Lakeland junior Haylee Smith and Lakeland sophomore Gabby Marino both had great performances on the vault. Milford junior Tatum Langley had solid routines on both beam and floor and she is expected to be in the medal hunt next year. Lakeland senior Mckenna Herman closed out her high school gymnastics career with a great bar routine as did Milford senior Kaitlynn Elkins on beam. Milford sophomore Lexi Hincka tied with her teammate, senior Sophia Stankov for 4th place in the vault with a 9.075. Milford junior, Stella Musialowski had a great day placing 6th in the D1 all around with 36.8, 3rd on bars with a 9.55 and tying for 4th on floor with a 9.375.
