The Huron Valley United Gymnastics team had an amazing day at the Walled Lake Invite on Saturday. The team placed 2nd out of 16 teams and scored a season high of 135.975. They were narrowly edged out by a talented Livonia Red team.

The team was led by its seniors including, Lakeland senior, Ava Barwikowski who finished 1st all-around, 2nd on vault, 7th on beam and 1st on floor. Another senior from Lakeland, Elena Hale, also had a great day finishing 4th all-around, 7th on vault, 7th on beam and 4th on floor. Milford senior Megan Sclabassi also placed on many events including 10th all-around, 10th on vault, 6th on bars an 6th on floor. We had a strong vault showing with 4 members placing including Milford sophomore Sophia Stankov who placed 10th. Lakeland sophomore, Mckenna Herman placed 10th on the floor. Rounding out our placing was Milford junior Karli Bredernitz with 6th on floor. 5 out of the top 10 spots on floor were HVU gymnasts. The team had a great day and we can’t wait to see what the rest of the season brings.
