The Huron Valley United Gymnastics team competed against Vassar and Port Huron on Thursday night. They took first place with a 134.65, Vassar 130.8, and Port Huron with a 107. IA senior Asha Chowanic had the top vault score with a 8.85. Lakeland sophomore Ava Barwikowski had a great night finishing with the top bars score of a 8.5, also a 8.5 on vault, and 8.3 on beam. IA junior Maeve Spicer had an 8.5 on vault and an 8.25 on beam. Lakeland junior Halie Martin finished in the top 3 on bars and floor. Milford senior Morgan Hester had the high score of the meet with a 9.1 on floor. Milford sophomore Megan Sclabassi finished with the top beam score of 8.75 and top 3 on bars and floor. The team had a great meet with many regional qualifying scores.
