LVC CHAMPIONS!!!

Last night, the Varsity Volleyball team provided another night of tense action, coming back from 2 sets down to defeat South Lyon East, thus finishing the LVC season with a perfect 8-0 record and claiming the LVC Conference Champion trophy.

The Eagles fell behind the Cougars 2 sets to 0 with SLE winning by scores of 27-25 and 25-23. The third game went to extra points, and with its back against the wall, Lakeland prevailed 26-24. Seizing the momentum from the Cougars, the Eagles won the 4th set 25-17, setting up the deciding 5th set.

Lakeland jumped out to a 4-point lead, but South Lyon East battled back to tie the score at 12-12. But, the Eagles, having played in several 5-set matches earlier in the season, drew up those experiences and won the final 3 points to take the match.

It was a perfect end to Senior Night. Before the match, the program honored its five seniors: McKenna Finnegan, Julia Fledderjohn, Emma MacLachlan, Amelia McCombs, and Stella Theaker.
