The Girls Swim and Dive team went on the road for the first time in two weeks to take on a solid South Lyon East Team, and came home victorious 107 to 79. Out of 50 individual swims the team produced 25 lifetime or season best performances in the pool, to go with two best scores on the boards for the divers. Senior Elle Dameworth again lead the way, continuing a hot streak by touching in new team records in the 100 Fly (56.92) and 100 Free (52.15), the latter as the lead off of the 400 Freestyle relay, along with a new season best time in the 200 Freestyle (1:55.22). Those performances rank 4th, 5th and 6th in the state this season, respectively. Sophomore Annabelle Thompson won the 200 IM while finishing a close 2nd in the 100 backstroke, swimming best times in both, Senior Mya Hutchinson won the 500 Freestyle while junior Lola Beer took first in diving. Dameworth paired with senior Brooke Stec, freshman Maddy Kalinowski, and senior Coral Hebert to win the 200 Free Relay, while the quartet of Dameworth, Hutchinson, Kalinowski and Thompson closed out the meet with a win in the 400 Free Relay.
Athletes of the meet were junior Kennedy Foote who dove a personal best score of 212.10, cracking the 200 point barrier for the first time this season, and senior Ashley Raya for a big 1.8 second drop in the 100 Fly and a great anchor leg of the B 200 Free relay to touch in 3rd place.
The team moves to 7-0 on the year and 4-0 in the LVC, with its final conference dual meet coming next Thursday, 10/24, @ Walled Lake Central against Walled Lake United. The final dual meet of the season is Senior night on 10/30 @ Milford HS vs Lapeer.
