Huron Valley United Girls Swim & Dive team update:

DUAL MEET RECAP

Last Thursday, the Girl's Swim and Dive Team hosted South Lyon for a clash of undefeated teams in the LVC, emerging victorious by a score of 113 to 72. The team won 11 of 12 events lead by sweeps by senior Elle Dameworth and sophomore Annabelle Thompson. Athletes of the meet went to Thompson for winning the 200 IM and 100 Breaststroke in best times along with senior Liz Frank swam a personal best in the 100 backstroke. The win moved the team to 3-0 in the LVC and 6-0 on the season.

MISCA MEET RECAP
Building off of Thursday's meet, qualifying members of the team traveled to Eastern Michigan University for the MISCA Invitational. On Friday Night, junior Diver Lola Beer placed 7th on the boards. Saturday, Dameworth set new program records in the 200 IM and 100 Backstroke while freshman Maddy Kalinowski achieved a state qualifying time in the 50 Freestyle. The Medley relay team of Dameworth, Thompson, Junior Nora Spangler and Senior Coral Hebert placed 7th overall. Dameworth and Hebert paired with Seniors Mya Hutchinson and Brooke Stec to place 2nd in the 200 Freestyle relay while Thompson and Spangler joined Kalinowski and junior Amelie Strickfaden to take 7th in the 400 Freestyle Relay.

The team is entering the last 6 weeks of the season maintaining its 8th overall ranking in the State, while boasting the 2nd, 3rd and 11th best times in the state in the 200 and 400 Freestyle Relays together with the Medley Relay, respectively. Dameworth holds the 4th best 50 Free time and 6th Best 100 Free time in Division 1, along with the 5th best 100 backstroke and 9th best 200 IM times. Hutchinson ranks 9th in the 500 Freestyle while Thompson is 15th in the 200 Freestyle. Beer hits the leaderboard at 11th place on the Diving leaderboard.
