Huron Valley United Girls Swim & Dive team defeats Waterford Kettering, 138-18

Last Thursday, September 26th, the Huron Valley United Girls Swim and Dive team traveled to Waterford Kettering to open up its LVC schedule, defeating the hosts, 138 to 18. The meet featured 22 personal bests and 12 season best performances, as the team made a last push for County qualifying marks.
Senior Lydia Henry improved her standing in the 50 freestyle, freshman Maddy Kalinowski achieved an automatic cut time in the 100 freestyle, while freshman Charlotte Smith dropped almost 6 seconds to get under the consideration standard in the 100 backstroke. Sophomore Annabelle Thompson swam a state-qualifying time in the 200 Freestyle.
Athletes of the Meet were senior Diver Sophia Stankov for a big PB in diving and sophomore swimmer Ana Duarte for a pair of really great swims in the 200 and 500 Freestyles. Charlotte Smith, Payton Schwake, Peyton Rowland, Lauren Sparks, Cloe Hrzich, Sophia Stankov, Makenna Williams, Sydney Latozas, Emina Grebovic, and Liz Frank all achieved one or more goals this week!
The team moves to 1-0 in the LVC and 4-0 on the season, with their next competition being a dual meet at home vs Walled Lake Northern on Tuesday 10/1 before heading to the Oakland County Championships Friday 10/4 (Diving) and Saturday 10/5 (Swimming) at Lake Orion High School.
