The Girl Swim and Dive team hosted its first home competition of the season, a double dual with Pinckney (SEC White) and Ann Arbor Greenhills (Catholic League), picking up two wins for their efforts.
Senior Captain Elle Dameworth lead the way with 4 wins, leading off the 200 Free Relay team in the 5th fastest time in D1 this season (24.56), swimming the #4 time in the state in the 100 backstroke (1:00.38) and swimming a state qualifying time in the 200 IM. Senior captain Mya Hutchinson picked up her first individual state cut on the season, swimming 2:00.40 in the 200 Freestyle, which ranks her 9th in the state.
Dameworth and Hutchinson were joined by senior captain Brooke Stec and freshman Maddy Kalinowski on the aforementioned 200 Freestyle relay, which finished with a time of 1:42.19, the number #2 time in the state so far. Junior Amelie Strickfaden and sophomore Annabelle Thompson picked up County A cuts in the 100 Fly and 200 Free / 100 Back, respectively.
Athlete of the meet was freshman Charlotte Smith for multiple personal best performances and picking up her first varsity event win, touching first in the 500 Freestyle.
The team is back on the boards next Friday (Diving, 9/13) and in the pool (swimming, 9/14) for the Huron Valley Invitational, against Novi, Grand Blanc, Berkley, Troy and Cass Tech.
