This past Saturday, the Girls Swim and Dive team competed in its final competition of the regular season, the Lakes Valley Conference championship meet. The team had already earned a share of the LVC title courtesy of its perfect 5-0 conference record, but needed a first place finish to ensure sole possession of the conference crown. It takes champions to win a championship, and the team competed like champions up and down the roster on Saturday, overcoming challenges outside of their control to clinch a victory prior to the final race of the day. Throughout the meet, the team had 12 different athletes earn 29 All Conference Honors, 6 athletes receive All LVC Honorable mention recognition, swim to 7 new team records, and bring home three LVC titles courtesy of first place finishes by junior Elle Dameworth in the 200 Freestyle, junior Mya Hutchinson in the 500 Freestyle, and in the 200 Freestyle Relay where Dameworth and Hutchinson teamed up with freshman Annabelle Thompson and junior Coral Hebert.

These are the second Lakes Valley Conference Meet and overall Lakes Valley Conference titles won by the team in the last 3 years, but the first outright overall championship.

The team leaves the meet with four individual state qualifiers, 3 qualifying relays, and multiple top 16 performances in the Division 1 rankings as they set their sights to complete the season with a Top 10 Finish at the State Finals, @ Eastern Michigan University November 17th and 18th.

Divers Lola Beer, Kennedy Foote and Leah Huntoon will compete at the Region 1 diving competition hosted at Milford High School this Thursday as they look to join their teammates as state qualifiers.
