Huron Valley United Girls Swim & Dive opened up its season with an out of conference win @ Troy High School on Thursday Night, with a final score 101-85.

There were a number of personal bests throughout the evening as HVU won 8 of 12 events.

Sophomore Elle Dameworth took first in the 200 Individual Medley and 100 Backstroke. Sophomore Coral Hebert added a win in the 50 Freestyle along with Freshman Lola Beer who won Diving with a new team record score of 198.80 The performances by those athletes were also MISCA Invitational and Oakland County A qualifying marks. Dameworth and Hebert were joined by Junior Karolina Speiwak and Senior Kayla Pletzer on the second place medley relay team. Senior Mallory Armstrong led off the 400 Freestyle relay with Hebert, Speiwak and Dameworth to close the competition out with an event win.

The athlete of the meet was Sophomore Mya Hutchinson who won the 200 and 500 Freestyles with Oakland County B cut Times of 2:06.81 and 5:45.55, and anchored the 200 freestyle relay team of Armstrong, Sophomore Brooke Stec and Freshman Nora Spangler to victory. All 3 relay teams achieved MISCA qualifying times as well.

The team is back on the boards and in the pool for their home invitational, hosted at Milford high school, with diving competing Friday September 9th at 6pm and Swimming competing on Saturday September 10th at 12pm.
