Huron Valley United Girls Swim & Dive team finishes 12th at Oakland County Meet

Congratulations to the Huron Valley United Girls Swim & Dive team on its OUTSTANDING performance Saturday at the Oakland County meet held at Clarkston High School. Every swim was either a season best or a personal best. The team finished 12th out of 29 schools (76.5 points).

The Medley relay of Anna Malik, Karolina Spiewak, Gracie Smetana and Riley Morgan all had personal best splits en route to a 24th place swim.

Mya Hutchinson placed 10 spots better than her seed position with a new personal best time of 2:04.48 for 25th place in the 200

Spiewak and Lauren McCaul both swam lifetime best swims to score in the 200 IM. Karolina finished in 15th place with 2:18.72. Lauren finished with a personal best time of 2:15.27 in 8th place, earning her a spot on the podium and all county honors.

In the 50 freestyle, Elle Dameworth and Coral Hebert both swam lifetime bests of 25.23 and 25.65 respectively, while placing 10th and 20th.

In the 100 Free, Mallory Armstrong posted a new best time and MISCA cut of 56.89 for 20th place while Elle Dameworth swam a new best time of 55.07 for 13th.

In the 500, the trio of McCaul, Malik and Hutchinson swam to 2 season bests and a personal best on the way to placing 9th, 20th and 26th respectively, with all 3 swimmers earning a MISCA cut in the process.

The 200 Free Relay team of Dameworth, Armstrong, Hebert and McCaul placed an All County 6th with a new team record time of 1:42.02, just 0.13 away from the state qualifying time. (PHOTO ATTACHED)

For the final individual event of the day, Karolina Spiewak swam a new best time in the 100 breaststroke of 1:11.66.

The 400 Free Relay of Dameworth, McCaul, Armstrong and Spiewak swam to a new team record time and 9th place finish in 3:44.39. This relay team was 0.50 seconds off the State cut.

Freshman Lauren McCaul and Sophomore Karolina Spiewak are our swimmers of the meet for the 8 awesome swims they had between the two of them.
