Thursday night, the Huron Valley United Girls Swim & Dive team hosted Walled Lake United to open up its Lakes Valley Conference Schedule.

Despite several athletes being out with illness and injury the team put forth one of its best efforts of the season, with 29 personal or season best times, before falling just short in the end with the final score being 92-93.

Several athletes had standout performances, including Athletes of the Meet junior Mila Koivula and freshman Lydia Henry, who scored 4th place in diving and who broke 30 seconds in the 50 freestyle, respectively.

Other standout swims came from Freshman Lauren McCaul and Brooke Stec in the 200 freestyle, the trio of freshman Elle Dameworth, Coral Hebert, and Junior Mallory Armstrong in the 100 Freestyle, freshman Katie Martinko in the 500 freestyle, sophomore Riley Morgan on all three relays, and Senior captain Jessica Duff in the 100 Backstroke

HVU falls to 3-1 on the season but looks to bounce back next week as they host Troy and Waterford United on Thursday 9/30 @ Milford HS
