Friday, several members of the Girls Track team competed at the Golden Triangle Meet of Champions held in Saline.
The Girls team had seven athletes competing. Junior Sarah Daniel took 1st place in the long jump with an effort of 17' 11 1/4", nearly 9 inches better than the runner-up. Daniel also finished 5th in the 100m dash.
Lauren Garbovits competed in the 800m run, finishing 12th in the afternoon finals with a 2:31.38 time. Rylee Lukes finished 12th in the evening race with a time of 2:24.99.
Madeline Rehm took 5th place in the Elite Division of the 3200m run, crossing the line in a time of 10:45.01. Fellow senior Rachel Townson took 36th in the 1600m run.
Hurdler Mackenzie Palmer finished 24th in the 100m hurdles and 27th in the 300m hurdles.
Valerie Ndakwah took 15th in shot put (30' 3") and 11th in the discus (90' 7").
