This weekend, the Girls Cross Country team competed in the Shepherd Invite, and the team continues to produce excellent results. The Varsity squad, though missing a runner, finished 7th out of 34 large schools. The JV squad placed 6th out of 32 teams.

A week after Ava Alicandro became the 3rd fastest LHS runner (in nearly 50 years of teams), Alena Tiernan became the 9th fastest and Maya Pletzer became the 12th fastest ever. Alena ran a 19:09 and Maya ran a 19:18.

Madeline Augustyn and Belle Verellen became the latest girls to run a Varsity-letter-earning time this year. So far, the team has 10 girls who have beaten the 22:00 Varsity letter goal (including Alicandro, Tiernan, Pletzer, Joiner, Hendry, Scally, Connolly, Sievert, Verellen, and Augustyn)
