Thursday, February 27th, the Girls Varsity Basketball team won its second consecutive LVC Championship, defeating Walled Lake Western, 59-24. With the win, the Eagles finished 12-2 in the Lakes Valley Conference, sharing first place with South Lyon.
Aubrin Miller led the Eagles with 23 points, while Peyton Baer contributed 12 points. Kennedy Canterbury added 8 points, Anna Linen scored 5 points, and Kalie Rhines finished with 4 points.
Lakeland finishes the regular season with a strong 16-6 record, a trophy, and some souvenir net parts. The Eagles will now prepare for MHSAA District action next week, where they will compete in one of the toughest playoff draws in the county. They open up with a game against West Bloomfield next Wednesday, March 5th. That game will be played at West Bloomfield at 7pm, and tickets must be purchased at GoFan.
