Monday, February 24th, the Girls Varsity Basketball team traveled to Hartland for a battle of Eagles. Both teams value gritty defense and solid execution, so the game featured those in abundance. In the end, it was the home team that prevailed, with Hartland beating Lakeland, 37-32.
Aubrin Miller scored 11 points to lead Lakeland. Peyton Baer and Alena Tiernan both scored 5 points, Kalie Rhines added 4 points, and Brynn Taliercio and Claire Linen each finished with 3 points.
Lakeland moves to 15-6 on the season, 11-2 in the LVC. The Eagles next play at Walled Lake Western this Thursday for a chance to clinch at least a tie for the LVC Championship.
